Car History: This car is and has always been a TEXAS car and a 3 owner vehicle. With me being the third owner as I was told when I purchased the vehicle. I ran a title search and it showed the previous owner to be the person I bought the car from. He had owned the car for over 20 years and he had told me he had bought it from the ORIGINAL OWNER.
I purchased the car in October 1998 and the restoration was completed by June of 1999.It was entered in the Houston Autorama in 1999 and won 3rd place in the class and also won 3rd place again in 2000 at the Houston Autorama The other winners 1st and 2nd place were cars built for SHOW ONLY and never driven on the street. There were 17 cars in the class. Also in 1999 the Chevelle was picked best restored GM Muscle Car at Fort Worth Good Guys Meet. There were 25 cars in the class. Also the Chevelle has been driven for pleasure and not abused and has won awards at numerous local Car Shows.
The Chevelle has approx 6500 miles on it since restored in 1998but the existing engine and trans. Was built and installed in 2004, this was done to remove the 427 engine and replace it with a “BUILT” 67 model 396 as it came with originally from the factory and the 4 speed trans was replaced with a NEW Richmond 6 speed overdrive transmission and they have approx 2800 miles on them since installed, just barely broken in. There are a few blemishes from small rock chips and incidents over the years from driving the Chevelle on the road that show, but still the Chevelle is an EXCELLENT DRIVER! She’s no longer a FRESH SHOW QUALITY #1 car but she is an EXTREMELY NICE #2 and built to last a long time with nothing but top quality parts. I built this car to KEEP FOREVER but due to health problems I need an AUTOMATIC CAR so I can continue to go cruising. So I am looking to trade the Chevelle for something I can drive.
The car also has a story behind it that was told to me by the first owner which I was able to speak to briefly before he passed away at age 87. He told me he purchased the car from Bud Moore Chevrolet in Houston Texas. Type of trade I am preferring is a 55 – 57 Chevrolet 2 door Car, 30’s to 40’s coupe, roadster or sedan , possibly another Chevelle Muscle Car, Definitely not interested in another Project I have two of those at the moment, No race Car’s or Truck’s unless the truck might be a 1932 or so.
I am willing to send pictures to serious people but please no picture collectors. I promise to not waste your time so please have the respect and do the same for me. I also have a picture album showing the Frame off Restoration of the Chevelle and some other items that would go with the Car.
